Eye witnesses to the resurrected Jesus Christ.
Christianity is unique, being the only religion which celebrates the death of it's leader, Jesus Christ.
When sin entered the world, death and destruction came with it. Jesus died to pay the price for the sins of the world. Before His death Jesus predicted that He would rise on the third day.
On the Suday morning Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James and Salome went to the tomb. On the way they were wondering who would roll away the stone from the tomb. When the women arrived they walked straight into the tomb and saw an angel (who looked like a young man) sitting on the right side wearing a white robe. They were frightened.
At first the disciples did not believe them. Two of the disciples ran to the tomb and found that Jesus wasn't there. Then they walked away wondering what had happened.
There are several instances recorded in the Scriptures when Jesus appeared to people after His resurrection:
To the women who had gone to the tomb on the day of Jesus' resurrectioni.
To two of the disciples on the road to Emmausii.
To Peter in Jerusalemiii.
To the ten disciples in the upper roomiv. To the eleven disciples in the upper roomv.
To seven disciples fishing on the Sea of Galileevi.
To the eleven disciples on a mountain in Galileevii.
To more than 500 peopleviii.
To James and those Jesus commissioned to represent Himix.
At the time of His ascension to Heavenx.
To Saul of Tarsus (better known as the apostle Paul, Saint Paul to Catholics) on the road to Damascusxi.
I have refered to several English translations of the Bible in writing this which is made easy by e-sword, a free downloadable program. For further information I recommend reading the Bible.
